6 That taking the above reasons into consideration, your
thoroughfares of Toowoomba form part of the main
roads of the Colony, and that the expense of maintaining
these throughfares ought to be borne by the Colony
generally
7 Your petitioners therefore humbly pray that your
Excellency will with the advice of your Excellency's
Executive Council, be graciously pleased to cause to
be placed upon the Estimates for the years 1861 - 62
the sum of Two thousand pounds Sterling to be devoted
to placing the main thoroughfares of the Township
of Toowoomba in proper and substantial condition
And your petitioners as in duty bound will ever pray
