states on oath I am a labourer and reside
in Chaters Towers. I live and was on 18 June last living with
Defdt. in his house near the Day Dawn P.C. Glain. I remember that
date because I laid up in bed with break bone fever & crysipelas
I was laid up in bed from the Thursday previous to Monday
the 18 June to the following Wednesday. I was only in bed the one
Monday. I saw Defdt. on the 18 June about 4 o.c.p.m. at his house
Defdt. works in Mills United on day shift from 7a.m. till 3.30 p.m.
He does not change his shift about. At four in the afternoon
he came into my room, he was wearing his working clothes,
moleskin trousers, [insert] sort of [end insert] crimean shirt with collar on. He remained
in my room about 1/2 an hour, he left my room about 1/2 past
4 o.'c, and about 5 minutes after I heard a man named
David Pritchard ask for him. Pritchard is engine driver at Mill
United. About 7 or 8 minutes after Prichard asked for
Defendeant, I heard he and Defendant talking outside, they were
talking there about 7 minues, and then went into the
front room and they remained there about 25 or 30 minutes.
They then walked through to the kitchen, where they said "Good Day"
Pritchard went away about 5 o.'c. I then heard Defendants
voice in his kitchen where he has his meals.
