Under Colonial Secretary
Brisbane
Sir,
I have the honor, by
direction of the Police Magistrate, to
forward you a letter addressed by
one Rose M. A. Murphy to him
asking for a free passage from
Townsville to Rockhampton for
herself. She is sending her three
children to the Rockhampton
Orphanage, and she wishes to be
near them. I am directed by the
Police Magistrate to state that the
Applicant is destitute, she having
applied to him for rations till she
can proceed to Rockhampton, and
he requests that authority may
be sent to him by wire.
