Third; to establish in London a cultural office or room, where all books, pamphlets, reports maps, etc., treating on, or concerned with, colonial matters, may be readily available for reference to the public, and where Australasian Metropolitan and provincial newspapers and magazines may be regularly filed for the perusal of visitors. Where also persons from the colonies may have their letters addressed to, may meet other Australasians, and may be directed where to obtain hotel or other accommodation, with tarrifs of charges, etc. With regard to our fitness and capacity to carry out this important design, we may be permitted to state that our Mr, Whitworth, in addition to his having travelled over, and being intimately acquainted with, the greater portion of Australia, may not be unknown to you by repute as the Author of the various Gazettes of the different colonies, which have appeared from time to time, as well as numerous handbooks and other works having reference thereto, as well as having had a large journalistic experience in nearly all the Australasian colonies. Our Mr. Bonacich is also a gentleman well known as a journalist, a commercial man, and in other capacities, in the colonies. He has had considerable experience as a mining expert, and has an extensive knowledge of gold, silver, and tin mining, and of the business connected therewith, all over Australasia. In view of the above, and of its being of practical benefit to each and all of the colonies, we venture respectfully to ask your Government to supply us with such maps, reports, statistics, land acts, and other documents as may be of value to the enquiring public, especially (if practicable) a list of all Crown Lands open for purchase
