In forwarding the accompanying
letter from the widow of the late Senior
Constable Thomas McCarthy, who died at
Thornborough after a weeks illness, I
have the honor to state that the Senior
Constable has served thirteen years and
nine months, and would recommend
that Mrs McCarthy be paid a gratuity
from the Police Reward Fund equal to
twelve months pay, as is usual in such
cases, and in accordance with the
provisions of the 25th section of The Police
Act of 1863.
