April 30th. 1874.
Sir,
I have the honor to report
for your information an explanation
as requested of any Conduct in the
late Cattle Stealing Case.
From instructions
received from you on the 1st. day of March
I started from the To To N. M. P. Camp
with two troopers, to a eserted Sataion
on the Mongallala known as Camerons
old Station _ where I found 32 head of
Cattle with defaced brands, I was
Accompanied by Mr. Reid's Stockman,
Mr. Nicholls stockman and Mr Blamey
who had missed Cattle from off their runs
for some time previous. I took possession
of these Cattle on the night of the 3rd.
March, and watched them all night
I handed them over in the morning to
Mr. Blamey and Mr. Nichills' Stockman
while Mr. Reids' Stockman, two troopers
and myself searched the run for more
Cattle, not finding any I returned to
the place appointed to meet Mr. Blamey with
the Cattle I gave into his possession, we
Camped out with the Cattle that night on
Sunlicks run, on the following morning (5th.)
I started the Cattle on with Mr. Blamey
and one trooper, the two Stockmen Searching
for more defaced branded Cattle. One
