I was so in January last, about the middle of which month I lent John Pigott, alias Yankey Jack the gun now produced, which gun I believe to be the property of Messrs Dowzer & Purser. [signed] John Lang Sworn before me at Maryborough 5th April 1864 [signed] RB Sheridan W.P.M. From the evidence produced I find that John Pigott Alias "Yankey Jack" came by his death from wounds inflicted on his body by Aborigines (names unknown) at or near the north end of Great Sandy Island.
