Police Office Ipswich 14th March 1862 Sir In addition to the proceedings already sent to you, in enquiry further into the case of Billy Horton I do myself the honor to forward to you Mr Daveney's letter to me informing me all he knew of the matter, which does not appear to throw any additional light on the affair I have the honor to be Sir Your Obedient Servant [signed] Chas. Geo. Gray P.M. The Honorable The Attorney General Brisbane ---- Henry Phillip Mills being duly sworn states. I went to Brisbane and went to the Gaol. And there seen a blackfellow whom I identify as the same black I saw at Wivenhoe on the 11th December 1861. His name is Billy Horton. The distance from Rae's hut to the Wivenhoe Hotel is about 1 3/4 across the bush. [signed] Henry P. Mills Sworn before me this 11th March 1862 [signed] Chas Geo Gray P.M.
