"INQUESTS OF DEATH ACT OF 1866." CERTIFICATE OF PARTICULARS.-INQUEST OF DEATH. I HEREBY CERTIFY, that on the twenty seventh day of December 1893, I held an Inquest of Death at Court House Port Kennedy in the Police District of Somerset and the following particulars were then disclosed:- Name of deceased: Charles Arbuthnot Bruce Profession or calling: Beche-de-mer Fisherman Height, colour of hair, peculiar clothing, and any other means of identity: 5ft 6" Black Hair. 7 Where found and when: Body not found. Date of death: on or abouth 20th November 1893 Supposed cause of death: Murdered by natives Persons last seen in company of deceased, and names of suspected persons: Seven mainland natives on board Lugger "Wren". Accused: Murderers escaped to the mainland. Names, residences, and callings of witnesses: Chas Savage Sub Inspt. Police, Mosquito Tracker R. Bruce Deceaseds Brother, Humphry Davey Mills Shipwright. Suspicious circumstances: Deceaseds Lugger "Wren" found abandoned coast of Gulf Carpentaria. Blood -stains on deck. [signed) John Douglas Coroner or Justice. NOTE.- One Copy of this Certificate to be attached to the Inquest of Death Deposition and forwarded The Honourable The Attorney-General, and a Duplicate to be sent to the Commissioner of Police. See Section 3 of "Inquests of Death Act of 1866" (30 Vic No. 3). A Copy must also be forwarded, together with the "Certificate of Information," to the District Registrar of the District within which the Death took place.
