been tried at the late assizes
and convicted; in making
this attempt, however - in
which he ultimately succeeded -
he would in all probability
have lost his life
had it not been for the
timely of a bullock driver
not named.
May I express a hope
therefore that the Government
will take that part of Mr
North's letter into their
favorable consideration in
which he suggests that
some small remuneration
should be granted to him
for his conduct. I mean
