The Superintendent.
Dear Sir,
I called on the Dept of Native Affairs to inquire the meaning of the name Buderim & to ask for a suitable name for a new house in that district, but they were unable to tell me & referred me to you.
I am building a house facing the ocean & overlooking Caloundra. It is a 2 storied building now (my builder says the only one in Buderim). but the upper room is one large room which serves instead of verandahs & also to catch the lovely views. From the back I can see the sands of Tewantin but I have no view of Glass Hse as a large tree (Jackaranda) stops the view there.
Do you think from that description that one of the natives could give me a name suitable for the house. I hope this is no bother to you.
I should like to purchase a boomerang, also spear. If not too costly.
My house is first off the main rd. behind the butcher & quite near the Post Office.
Thanking you in anticipation.
Yours respectfully.
Lily A. Baker
