The Humble Petition of the undersigned Members of the Jewish Persuasion resident in Ipswich.

That no Members of your Petitioners [sic] Persuasion having resided in Ipswich until within the last
few years no portion of Land for the purpose of erecting a place of Divine Worship in connection with that persuasion has been apportioned.
That your petitioners are informed that all other denominations who have required it have had
land set apart for such purpose.
That your petitioners are informed that it is the intention of many Jewish Families to reside
in Ipswich besides those already there.
That your petitioners are desirous of erecting a suitable edifice for the worship of God and the
performance of the ordinances of religion according to the customs of their creed.

Your Petitioners therefore pray that your Excellency will cause
such Land within the Town of Ipswich as to your Excellency may
seem meet to be reserved and set apart for the purpose aforesaid ........
