Townsville Hospital 17th Dec. 1893 The President Townsville Hospital Sir Thomas Flannigan was not a Townsville patient he came here directly from Hughenden passing Hughenden and Charles Hospitals, the wards -man Davies having told him that he would b e met at Brisbane, if he did so he did it with -out authority. J Connigan we sent to Brisbane becaues it was thought his chance sof recovery would be greater in a less tropical climate. He was not sent to Brisbane Hospital. As regards the accusation of selfishness it is well known to you that a large pro- portion of the patients received in the Institution come from distant distrcts possessing in the majority of cases Hospitals of their own, and in many instances as you know they arive here directly from these hospitals by advice of the medical officers. As regards the complaints about Dunwich applicants, nine tenths have come from distant parts. We
