Sir,
With regard to the practicality of
making clothing or uniform for the Defence
Force by prison labor at the Penal Establish-
ment St Helena - I beg to submit that
if a competent Trade Instructor is appointed
to fill the vacancy about to occur in that
Establishment by the resignation of Warder
and Trade Instructor Davies, there will in
my opinion be no difficulty in making
Defence Force Uniforms - A very large number
of Frocks and Tunics for the Force have for
the last two years been made up at St. Helena
in the Tailors Shop, under the direction of
Mr Davies, and so far as I could learn, these
garments gave general satisfaction - Police great coats and
cloaks - Warders Uniforms - Clothing for the officers and Sailors of the Government Steamers,
