Cloncurry 4th June 1887. To the Hon. The Colonial Secretary Brisbane Mathias Davis respectfully begs to state that as Bailiff of the Small Debts Court of Cloncurry he arrested I. B. Durack on the 16th April 1886. on a Writ of Ca. Re. from the Supreme Court Brisbane by R. D. Neilson. Mathias Davis respectfully begs to stated that he had possession of Buggy & Harness etc. all of which Mr Uhr (who was then P.M. and High Bailiff at Cloncurry sold from the 16th April 1886. to the 29th June 1886 both days included that makes 76 days at 7/- per day with one guinea for levy ₤27-13-0 Mathias Davis was also in possession of John Winn's by Writ of Fi Fa issued by the trustess in the Insolvent Estate of E. K. Russell Townsville from 15th August 1886 to the 20th September 1886 both days included 35 days at 7/- per day with one guinea for levy ₤13-6-0 also for erecting shelves in the Court House Cloncurry ₤3-0-0 also for posting Census Notice papers ₤2-0-0 that makes in all ₤45-19-0 Mathias Davis respectfully beg to apply to the Hon.
