Court House Cloncurry June 27th 1887 Sir I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of Mr M Davis letter. In re money due in connection with Services as Bailiff at Cloncurry. I note the memorandum endorsed thereon by The Honble The Colonial Secretary. In the beginning of April 86/ I received a "Writ of Ca Re" from the Sheriff of Queensland directed to me as High Bailiff. On receipt of same I got Mr Davis who was then Bailiff of the Small Debts Court Cloncurry to accompany me to Mr Laceys Hotel for the purpose of arresting Mr Durack this he did and conveyed him to the Cloncurry Lockup. and handed him over to the Custody of the Police. His Mr Davis duties in the matter then ceased. He never took possession of any property belonging to Mr. Durack. the property consisting of a Mob of Horses. Buggy etc[?] were taken possession of by myself and the Horses placed The Honble The Col.
