The Hon. The Colonial Secretary Brisbane
Mathias Davis respectfully
begs to state to The Hon. Colonial Secretary
that if he will read Mathias Davis'
letter of the 4th June he will see by the
items and services performed that
Mathias Davis did not claim pound
-dage money and although as Bailiff he has
held many sales at Cloncurry he has
never yet claimed any poundage money.
Mathias Davis respectfully begs to
state that he claims nothing but the
very poor fees (For this district where
living and everything is very Expensive) allowed in
the Bailiff's instructions book
Mathias Davis respectfully
begs to state that if he does not receive
this money for all the items in his
letter of the 4th June he will place the
matter in the hands of a respectable
Lawyer at once
