I have the honour to
acknowledge receipt of your
letter of 15th Inst. and in
reply beg to inform you that
Mr Uhr who acted as [...]
for Cloncurry did not furnish
me with a voucher for the
sum demanded by Mr
Davis and I was therefore
unaware that the amount
mentioned had been incurred
for the service referred to.
On receipt of your letter
I sent a telegram to Mr Uhr
at Blackall enquiring if the
amount claimed by Davis
was due to him and a reply was
received to the following effect
"Mathias Davis posted Notices
for which he was to receive
Two (2) pounds.
