Cloncurry Feby 25th / 88 To the Hon the Colonial Secretary. Brisbane Sir. I Mathias Davis respectfully beg to state that I wrote to you on the 4th of June 1987 claiming ₤45=19=0 (forty five pounds nineteen shillings [...]) of which I have since received ₤2/-/- two pounds for posting Census notice papers. In reply to my letter you state "that after making full enquiries regarding the services alleged to have been performed"that I am not entitled to poundage money". I respectfull beg to state that I did not claim any poundage money, as may be seen by referring to my letter of the above date. I beg respectfully to request you to again look over the items in my accounts and if found correct to forward me the balance viz ₤43=19=0 which is due for levy, and possession money by Warrant of Fi Fa. and warrant Ca Re. in the Cause R D Neilson Versus I B Durack and a warrant Fi Fa. in the Cause Trustees in the estate (insolvent) of E K Russell Versus John Wynne.
