Memorandum
The Under Secretary for Lands
Brisbane.
Re 640 acres on McIvor River Cooktown
District set apart as a police reserve.
In order to practically test the
value of sugar lands on the McIvor
river, I beg to suggest the above land be
sold by public auction at an upset of
two pounds. It is far too good and
valuable for police purposes, & I am of
opinion another 640 acres could be
obtained that would be quite suitable for
a paddock, which I take it, is all
required. The land is some of the
best on the river.
