Tinaroo Divisional Board,
Herberton, 9 May 1890
The Honorable
The Colonial Secretary
Brisbane
Sir,
I have the honor by
instruction of my board to request that
you will cause two or more black troopers
to be stationed at Atherton. At present there

there which this board consider insufficient
protection for the settlers.
By a telegram before me dated 14 Augst 1889
from T. Wimble Esq. MLA. "The Chief Com-
missioner of Police had issued instructions
to increase the number of constables by
two &c," instead of which they are reduced to one
Trusting this matter will receive your
favorable consideration

A telegram received from the
Chairman of this Divisional Board dated
23.9.89 forwarded herewith. It seems that
the Board hardly know what they want. There is a
strong detachment at Nigger Creek about 12 miles from
Atherton, which is sufficient for the
work.
