in order, if possible, to procure the assistance of a competent person as Interpreter. This prisoner being from a tribe of Blacks in the far interior, precludes the possibility of getting an interpretor of his language; I would therefore suggest that Davis the Aboriginal interpretor who lives near Brisbane should be engaged to attend here on the 11th instant, when possibly his general knowledge of teh native language will be useful in informing the prisoner. If this plan meets with your approval, will you be good enough to cause Davis to be communicated with.
