was the officer in charge of the Station at Cloncurry, and had under him two (2) Constables either of whom was much better qualified for the duty than Robinson appointed from the Bynoe Native Police Station. As regards the latter (Robinson) I may remind you that he was Camp Keeper at "Bynoe", and I considered his absence would render the whole Detachment utterly inefficient – results from which as I anticipated had actually transpired, as you have already been informed. The want of ammunition spoken of by Mr Henry should not prevent the Sub Inspector from proceeding on patrol when necessary. In conclusion I respectfully submit that as my action in the matter and the correspondence in connexion therewith only caused a delay of three (3) days.
